A traveling exhibition of the national Loeries awards has hit Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University this week, showcasing recipients from previous years.
CREATIVE PROWESS: NMMU second year Bachelor of Visual Arts (Graphic Design) students Chelsi Anne Harrison, Takudzwa Gwindingwi and Tess Saunders help hang up items at the Loeries Exhibition at the NMMU Bird Street Art Gallery.
The Loeries Exhibition is a showcase of the best of African and Middle Eastern brand communication over the last year – zooming in in the past and looking into the future of creative communications.
The exhibition is open daily from August 22 to August 26 between 9:30am and 3:30pm at the Bird Street Art Gallery, with Boomtown managing director Andrew MacKenzie to do a walkabout of the exhibition at midday on Wednesday.
Dubbed the Oscars of advertising and design world, the awards seek to honour those excelling in brand communications in the continent.
The exhibition travels throughout South Africa, as well as to overseas destinations, going to public spaces, educational institutions, museums, expos and more.
The exhibition, which completed its Durban last week, seeks to inspire and educate audiences – from students and lecturers to industry professionals.
All media practitioners, designers, illustrators, photographers, art directors and creative students are encouraged to attend.
