The University today met with the executive leadership of a number of taxi associations operating in the Nelson Mandela Bay in a bid to iron out issues that had earlier this week seen disruptions at the Missionvale Campus.
The meeting was around the concern by taxi associations of loss of income as a result of the University’s shuttle service provider, Blunden Coach Tours, running on some of the associations’ feeder routes.
The meeting resolved that the transport providers would meet among themselves, and then schedule another meeting with the University for further engagements.
The taxi associations apologised for the disruption at Missionvale on Wednesday morning, saying they would in future make use of the available communication channels with the University before taking any action.
The University was once again given assurance by the transport providers that there would be no further disruptions on its campuses.
