The University looks forward to welcoming new and returning students and staff to our campuses and is particularly excited to welcome the first years, some of whom have been getting acquainted with the institution through the Orientation Programme.
Aspects of the Orientation programme are set to continue well into the term, with dedicated staff and student How2Buddies ready to assist the institution’s new recruits make the transition into varsity life that much smoother.
Staff and students are advised to arrive early due to the expected high traffic volumes. Both the University Way and Marine Drive entrances will be open.
Assisted registration at the various venues across all campuses is ending today, 3 February, but students will still be able to register in venues still to be identified on all campuses until 10 March. Students are once again encouraged to register as soon as possible.
Students are urged to ensure that they familiarise themselves with the new lecture timetable to avoid missing classes and to make the necessary adjustments to their travel arrangements. To access the timetable, please follow this link http://newportal.nmmu.ac.za/Pages/TimetablesLectures.aspx.
The Interim SRC is up and running, with full details to be shared in due course. The previous structure, which operated in January, has done the necessary handover. For further information on the interim structure, please contact Sandile Mpepo (Sandile.Mpepo@nmmu.ac.za) or Msondezi Matyila (Msondezi.Matyila@nmmu.ac.za) at the Student Governance and Development office.
Shuttle services will be made available to and from the University from Monday. For the full shuttle service schedule, please follow the link: http://newportal.nmmu.ac.za/webmaster/ShuttleSchedule.pdf
