To assist the university with their #Support4NMMU campaign, General Motors generously donated boxes full of toiletries to needy students at the institution.

The volunteer campaign to support Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) students in completing their academic year was launched six weeks ago and the response has been very encouraging.

A massive effort was required from the extended NMMU community to help almost 27 000 students complete their studies to graduate or progress to next year.

Concerned citizens and businesses offered to assist with everything from providing toiletries through to accommodation and venues.

As the academic year will continue until 21 December for some which has required our students and many staff members to dig deep in achieving the goal of completing the year.

The majority of NMMU’s students opted to write their 2016 examinations this year. Students were given an option of writing in November/December this year or in January next year, or do some of each.
